Disney is no stranger to accusations of racism, sexism and unrealistic expectations for both girls and boys in their films. Young people, specifically children, can be easily influenced and therefore the mass availability of children’s movies with typical gender stereotypes can create a cycle of gender roles in society. Gender roles and their perpetuation in popular culture over the years has been a hot topic amongst young people.
